What we store about you

For contributors we store your name, email address, institution and claimed credential. Your name, institution and credential appear publicly as case attribution. Your email is never shown publicly and is used only for review notifications.

Uploaded imaging

Images are re-encoded in your browser before upload, so embedded metadata (camera, PACS and GPS tags, names, timestamps) never leaves your computer — we only ever store clean pixels. Those pixels go first into a private review area that the public site and public keys cannot read. Only after a reviewer approves a case are the reviewed images copied into the separate public store, and the review copies are deleted. Rejected cases have their uploaded files deleted immediately, and any submission left unreviewed for 30 days is deleted automatically. Raw uploads and public content never share storage.

Report import

If you drop a report (.txt, .pdf, .docx) to pre-fill the submission form, the file is read entirely in your browser. It is never uploaded, and its text is never stored on our servers or in our database. Identifiers are stripped before the text is parsed, and only the structured fields you review and approve are saved with the case.

AI processing

If you use the dictation or report shortcuts, de-identified text — and, for dictation, the audio itself — is sent to a language or transcription model to suggest form values. Audio is used for transcription only and is never stored; the transcript is discarded once fields are extracted. Identifiers are stripped before any model call, and only the structured fields you review and approve are saved. Nothing sent is used to train any model. Models are accessed through Lovable AI, which routes requests to OpenAI and Google models as a processor for Radabase. Full detail is on the How we use AI page.

Patient data

Radabase is not intended to hold identifiable patient or owner information at any point. Contributors must de-identify before uploading; browser-side stripping, automatic screening and human review act as additional safeguards. If you believe an identifier slipped through, report the case and we will act on it.

Removal

Contributors can request removal of their own cases, and anyone can report a published case. Removal deletes both the database record and the stored images.
